I am hoping that I can create an online community among my friends. If this works the way I would like, it will be an efficient way to share some of what Camille and I are doing with everyone. It might be a way to share the things I discover in my travels. If I find a restaurant or a recipe I especially like, what good does it do buried in my handwritten journal, which will probably be thrown away unopened when I escape this mortal coil?
Likewise, there is a folder in my computer full of notes and observations that were never shared with anyone for lack of a convenient, efficient vehicle. Maybe a blog is the remedy. I have no idea how this will turn out, if I will have time to write as fully as I would like, but I think it is a worthwhile experiment.
One of the problems I have with the pbase site is that commentary is not very convenient to read. The focus of that site is different – it is intended to be a photosharing site among serious amateur photographers.
